It seems like only yesterday
That I was just a child,
Waiting for you to come home,
Anxious to tell you about my day.
Even if you were tired,
I knew you’d take the time
To talk with me,
To help me with a project,
Or just play with me.
I felt like the luckiest kid alive
Having a dad who was
Not only strong and smart,
But also gentle and so much fun.
Now that I’m grown up,
I understand all the sacrifices
You made for me,
And I realize how much I learned
From you about life . . .
So I just want you to know
That I haven’t forgotten
The things you have taught me,
And with each passing day
I look up to you more and more
For being a "Special &Wonderful"
Father.
