When you were just a baby
Saying your first words
Or taking those first important steps,
I knew you were someone special.

There was a sparkle in your eyes
And a spirit of wonder
That lit up your whole face.

Now, as you are growing up
That energy and enthusiasm
Is growing bigger and brighter.

Your questions and discoveries
Keep me challenged and alert,
And makes me feel a little younger.

We are developing a bond
Between us that I pray
Will be strong and lasting.

You were special to me as a baby
and you’re special to me now
and I love you with all My Heart.
