When you were just a baby,
Saying your first words,
Or taking those first important steps,
I knew you were someone special.

There was a sparkle in your eyes and
A spirit of wonder that lit up your whole face.

As you grew into a teenager,
That energy and enthusiasm
Just grew bigger and brighter.

Your questions and discoveries
Kept me challenged and alert
And made me feel a little younger.

But through all your changes,
We always had a deep bond between us.

Now that you’ve grown into a woman,
That bond is still strong and lasting,
And I cherish our relationship more than ever before.
